more C's

Clothes and clothing: Places to get clothes - basics banks, hostel and daycentre clothing stores, outreaches, soup runs and kitchens, clothing runs, charity shops, kind people, churches sometimes, and more.

Clothes for the rough sleeper. When I became a rough sleeper my clothes were not appropriate for rough sleeping, and it was the beginning of winter, I was wearing trainers and nice sweatshirts with pictures of cats and boats on.
I learned to wear hoodies and fleeces, to wear layers starting with a thermal layer, you can buy thermals cheap in primark or similar cheap and adequate, if you buy thermals in an outdoor shop, buy them out of season or they are expensive, alternatively get a long sleeve top and tights or skin tight leggings as a thermal layer, wear them next to the skin but wash them whenever possible, then wear layers, teeshirts and thin fleeces under heavy fleeces or hoodies, wear jeans as they are thick and safe.
wear thick socks in boots, even in the summer, just take your boots and socks off to give your feet a break when you can.
I have primark thermals, a turtleneck long sleeve top and black leggings, excellent for cold nights sleeping rough. I am wearing a cotton teeshirt with a light fleece, and I have a heavy fleece in the locker if I get cold, I am wearing jeans cheap from M&S and boot socks from the pound shop., two pairs for a pound but do check the size before you buy! you can get very small socks sometimes, my underwear is cheap from primark. Basic cotton underwear is comfortable, and primark does reasonable sports bras cheap and comfortable.
I am warm and comfortable.

This clothing advice is comnpletely unisex. But let me tell the ladies a little secret, boxer shorts are quite comfortable, I was once issued a pair by a daycentre that had run out of knickers ;), boxer shorts for ladies is ok and comfortable,  men, don't wear ladies knickers in revenge for this, that will just make you into a cross dresser ;) :)
