Anger and Aggession: There is a lot of both on the streets, homeless people suffer and have suffered trauma, and that can lead to anger.
The best thing to do in confrontations is walk away, don't get involved, don't take the bait, don't risk injury or arrest, no matte how much your pride is at stake.
Homeless quarrels can be fuelled by drink or drugs and be brief violent quarrels that ae forgotten the next day, or they can be ongoing pecking order or rivalry quarrels, or even fights about drug money or homeless people stealing off each other, which happens but is not as common as you may think, homeless people look after each other a lot, only a bad egg steals off fellow homeless.
So, self preservation is walking away from fights and challenges and keeping your head down. Winning a fight means preparing for the next fight, and if you keep yourself to yourself you end up with othr people's respect. I get angry with other homeless people who are unreasonable, but they want meto fight them, and it wouldn't teach them anything if I did, nor would it help me.
